Returning home from a recent office party, I sat in my cozy ottoman in front of the fire and thought back over my love for the night out. By Of course, there are some interesting characters present.
What stood out most for me was the big difference between the groups. As you know, in these big office parties people often tend to extend their activities to small groups or gangs. It's funny how certain types of people who tend to gravitate toward others.
As I tried to mix with the first group, I realized they were talking about their jobs and the company in particular that all work. So I asked a question about the recession. All complained bitterly of work, the economy, the recent election, the stock market, and successively, one after another.
I went to another group of coworkers who are already involved in a different conversation. I decided to ask again this group the same question about the recession. One person talked about his recent vacation, the other just bought a new house, the other was glad of the election results and talked about the Christmas gifts he was buying.
Same city. Same company. Diametrically opposed worldviews. One group was having a recession, The following group was not, was fully up to their beliefs and worldview.
